Étang de la Clarté: Rules

Internal Rules
  1. Discreet green or black shelters only. All other shelters, tents, or marquees are strictly prohibited.
  2. Vehicles must be parked in the designated parking area after unloading equipment. Please stay on the marked tire paths and avoid driving on the grass.
  3. Smokers must bring a container for cigarette butts.
  4. Swimming is strictly prohibited.
  5. All boats are prohibited except bait boats and float tubes for predator fishing days.
  6. Dogs must be kept on a leash (please pick up after them).
  7. Dry toilets are available. Please keep them clean (do not leave toilet paper in the nearby fields).
  8. Respect nature, peace, and site cleanliness (bring your own garbage bags).
  9. Clean your fishing spot before departure.
  10. Visitors must leave the site by 8:00 PM and can arrive from 11:00 AM. All vehicles must be parked in the parking lot upon arrival. Sleeping on-site is prohibited without prior request and permission from the owner—otherwise, all persons, including anglers, will be evicted.
  11. Campfires and barbecues are prohibited (use only the on-site barbecue; dispose of cold ashes in a trash bag).
  12. Excessive alcohol or drug use is strictly forbidden. Any person causing severe noise disturbance to other anglers or nearby residents will be immediately and permanently expelled without refund and may face legal action.
  13. Use appropriate lighting for your fishing spot.
  14. Fishing spots can be occupied from 1:00 PM. You must leave your spot by 12:00 PM. If your spot is available earlier, you may arrive sooner. You may also ask to switch spots if others are free upon your arrival.
  15. The entrance gate to the lake is closed. The code for the key box will be given 24 hours before your arrival. The code changes weekly.
  16. Some fish are tagged and monitored. A scanner is available in the mailbox. The key is in the code box at the gate. Leave the key on the mailbox while fishing. The last anglers to leave must return the key to the code box. Instructions for use are inside.
  17. For your safety, the site is under 24/7 video surveillance. Monitoring is regularly carried out. ⸻

Carp Fishing Rules
  1. Fishing is only allowed on designated pegs and strictly No-Kill.
  2. A maximum of 3 rods per person (1 line per rod). We recommend 2 rods per angler if two anglers share a peg to reduce pressure, but you are free to choose. One additional rod for small fish (No-Kill) per angler is allowed—except for undesirable species like catfish and pumpkinseed sunfish (do not release them!).
  3. Barbless hooks only (maximum size 4). Micro-barbs are allowed. (Inspections will be conducted; violations will result in expulsion without refund). We’ve seen dangerously inappropriate rigs!
  4. Mainline must be at least 0.30 mm (due to submerged trees).
  5. Leader must be no more than 0.45 mm (same reason).
  6. Braided mainlines are prohibited. Only fluorocarbon hooklinks (coated braid and combi rigs accepted). Leaders are allowed.
  7. Rigs must allow the lead to detach and the fish to free itself in case of breakage. The hooklink must have lower strength than the mainline.
  8. XXL unhooking mats are mandatory and must be kept moist! Cradles are prohibited.
  9. One pair of waders is required per person or per peg.
  10. Handle fish with extreme care. Photos and videos must be taken kneeling, not standing! Keep fish wet, especially during hot weather.
  11. Particles are allowed for baiting and hook bait only if they can be inspected to verify cooking. Tiger nuts are allowed only as hook bait.
  12. No unattended rods allowed.
  13. Any deliberate harm to fish will result in immediate exclusion and potential legal prosecution.
  14. Healing products specifically for carp (e.g., propolis) are mandatory (one per person). Betadine is prohibited.
  15. Carp sacks are prohibited, even at night. Weighing and photos must be done immediately after landing the fish.
  16. Each peg has a spool acting as a table or for other use. Please take care of it! Do not sit or stand on it.
  17. Each peg must respect its fishing zone and avoid interfering with neighboring anglers. Upon arrival, ask your neighbors where their lines are positioned.
  18. Legal action will be taken in the event of fish theft or attempted theft.
  19. Any breach of the rules will result in permanent expulsion from the lake without refund.
